Tappe has become Wittmann

You may have seen the announcement video, and since August 16th, 2013 „Tappe has become Wittmann“:

Since many have been asking about “more details” or “how could that happen?”, I decided to write this post to publish the story how Tappe actually became Wittmann:

As a matter of fact it is pure coincidence, and luck decided our name. We decided that we wanted one family name, nothing hyphenated. However, we could not really decide on which one to take. So on the night before we registered the wedding date, we let luck decide and did a name lottery using two plastic eggs of Kinderüberraschung and a cardboard box. The names were put into the eggs, and with eyes blinded and after a lot of shuffling, I drew one of the eggs: It contained the name “Wittmann” – so I lost the lottery, and I won a new name!
